What does your festive season look like? Do you eat pasta? Slow cook a specific cut of meat? Or perhaps you get the whole family involved in stirring the bowl for a special dessert? Whatever your traditions, this time of the year is the perfect time to make the meal you can only justify making when you’re serving many.
You might have heard us mention in the past that we’ve love to replicate the Pasta Grannies concept across the world, travelling to places outside of Italy. We’re keen to find and follow the real food heroes, the grandparents, who leave their legacies and stories through baking, making, shaping and creating globally.
And we’d like you to help us with that; starting with you and your stories. Last Spring, we trialled this by asking for your special long-standing family recipes. We loved reading them; hearing your own family histories was wonderful. We even tried creating a few of the dishes ourselves! And in the spirit of the holiday season, we thought we’d bring it back again; this time with a festive twist.
We’re giving you the chance to win membership to our Pasta Grannies club as well as some of our merchandise. We’re looking for your favourite or most-cherished recipes handed down by your grandparents or family members that you typically serve for holiday season. Think: Diwali, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Eid, Mardi Gras, or just your local village festival. Honestly, we don’t mind what kind of recipe or occasion it is; as long as it’s a dish which is intended to be eaten when people come together at a special time of year. And we’re excited to hear the story behind it.

THE PRIZE
Winners will get one year’s free membership to the Pasta Grannies Club, and a Pasta Grannies T-shirt. Runners up get honourable mentions and their recipes shared on our website and socials. For those not familiar with our club, this is a space where you can take a seat at our table, getting exclusive access to weekly nonne interviews, extra recipes, and behind-the-scenes content from our travels.

JUDGING AND ANNOUNCEMENT
Entries will be judged by Vicky and the Pasta Grannies team. We will judge these based on
originality, flavour, creativity, methodology, as well as the storytelling behind the recipe. We will
announce the winner on 19th December.
HOW TO SUBMIT
Please read the below terms and conditions before submitting your creations.
- Email: hello@pastagrannies.com with the subject FESTIVE RECIPE COMPETITION before
11th December. - Please include: a word document with your recipe, a photo of your creation,
and a short bio with the story behind your creation.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS - Only one entry allowed per person.
- Contestants must subscribe to the Pasta Grannies newsletter and follow us on either TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube.
- All entries must be uploaded in a word document. Images must be uploaded separately.
Please use size 12 font. Include the ingredient list, quantities, methodology, serving portion
and cooking time. Please label the file as RECIPE_YOUR NAME - Please also include a short summary (no more than 600 words) sharing a little information
about you and the story behind this recipe using the form below. - If you have previously entered a Pasta Grannies competition, you are unfortunantely not
eligible to submit the same recipe. We welcome reentries, but they must have different
recipes from before. - Entries must be submitted no later than 00.00 EST on 11th December.

Recipes and imagery shared by you may be used on the Pasta Grannies website and social media.
